About Goa

Goa, a speck on the sub continent, forms one of the smallest states with a collective population of about 1.4 million. It abounds with nature's bounty - be it mineral rich topography to inland waterways or a sun kissed undulating coastline stretching more than a 100 Kms alongside the Arabian sea on the west coast of India.

Near Tropical weather virtually all through the year and the residual Portuguese influence prevalent in Goa (Goa was a Portuguese colony up until as recent as 1961) reflects in the warm disposition of the local populace. Rated as an ideal "Sojourn in the Sun", it is a favorite amongst most European holiday makers. Summer has a maximum temperature of 40°C and winter has a minimum of 20°C.

Most of the Districts are interspersed by the major rivers Sal, Zuari, Mandovi and Chapora. The major livelihood apart from mining and tourism is also fishing and rice plantation. Coconut and Cashew nut, the main produce of the state, finds its way in the local cuisine as well as the local brew called "Feni".

Goa can very well be distinguished between the Sedentary South and the Happening North with the natural divide by way of River Mandovi. Colva the main activity hub of the South with taverns, bistros, clubs and beach shacks is located about 8 Kms from Margao, 29 Kms from the Capital city Panjim (with easy access from the national highway) and has all the famous South Goa beaches namely, Mobor, Cavelossim, Fatrade, Benaulim, Sernabatim, and Colva - all within a few minutes of comfortable motoring distance. Goa airport is 19 Kms away. Banks, Post Office and Shopping are all within a close proximity.
